These days a strange process "SCserver.exe" often emerges automatically in my task manager. When I terminate it, it will appear again in a few seconds, which is so boresome. As part of Microsoft Search Client Server, "SCserver.exe" is almost insignificant. People who don't care about the search function of XP may want to kill 'SCserver.exe' thoroughly, but how?
If you didn't change any configuration of MS Search Enhancement Pack during the installation, the file "SCserver.exe" which is the source file of the process "SCserver.exe" must be located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Search Enhancement Pack\SCServer\.
To fully kill the process, at first, you should make sure that "SCserver.exe" is terminated in your task manager, then go to the directory mentioned above, create a new folder there, drag the file "SCserver.exe" into this folder, and then rename the folder "SCserver.exe". Make sure that the attribute of the folder is set to "read only".
After doing these, the unwelcome process "SCserver.exe"will disappear from your task manager for ever.
